Jim Rollo is Professor Emeritus at the University of Sussex. He is Deputy Director of the UK Trade Policy Observatory, Research Affiliate at the Centre for Analysis of Regional Integration at Sussex (CARIS), Associate Research Fellow at Chatham House. He is a founder and a director of Interanalysis Ltd, the home of TradeSift, innovative software for trade data analysis. He was Professor of European Economic Integration at the University of Sussex and Co-Director of the Sussex European Institute from 1999 till 2011 and Editor of the Journal of Common Market Studies (JCMS) from 2003-2010. Until December 1998, He was Chief Economic Adviser in the British Foreign Office and from 19891993, Director of the International Economics Research Programme at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House in London. He has published widely on international economic issues, principally in the field of EU policy and trade policy. His main current research interests are trade policy and the economics of preferential trade liberalisation in the context of BREXIT. Jim Rollo is a frequent commentator on Brexit and British Trade Policy, EU trade policy, the the WTO and global economic issues in the British and global media and is active in the European and international policy debate. He has been a consultant to the British Government (notably, to DFID, FCO and the then BIS as well as to NGOs and business).
